Friends of the Barre Library Association

The Barre Library Association (BLA) provides our community with a fine, accessible, recently expanded and renovated library for public use which houses a quality museum of primarily 19th century artifacts while also providing fun and educational programs and activities. The BLA has done so successfully for more than 100 years, but now they need your help to maintain these town treasures and to continue providing quality programming. The primary goal of the Friends group is to expand community involvement in the library to insure the continued operation of the library for current and future generations.

What the BLA needs to do:

  • Expand membership in the Friends group
  • Install new driveway and drainage
  • Repair the original slate roof
  • Invest in the library's future

What you can do to help:

  • Join the Friends group as a Charter member
  • Elect to join a committee and work with others to support activities
  • Become a part of the Friends group at any giving level
  • Volunteer to help at events throughout the year

To become a Friend of the Barre Library Association, simply fill out a membership form, or contact the BLA by phone or mail and request a membership form to be sent to you. You can also pick up a membership brochure and form at the library! There are many benefits to becoming a Friend of the BLA:
